Will Brewington

Mr. Brewington is the Organic Laboratory Manager and a GC/MS Specialist. He has over 12 years of experience in the environmental analytical field and with hazardous waste laboratories. His experience includes GC/MS, GC/EC, HPLC, TLC, and sample preparation and clean-ups. Mr. Brewington has comprehensive knowledge of and experience in regulatory agencies' requirements for organic analysis by GC/MS and GC/EC using U.S. EPA CLP, Method SW-846, 600 and 500 Series, and air toxics analytical protocol. He is responsible for the hiring, training and supervision of the chemists. He also works as Laboratory Safety Officer.

Professional Experience

Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometry. Analyzed environmental samples using GC/MS and GC/EC in accordance with CLP and EPA Protocols. Analyzed organics compounds by GC/MS using EPA protocols (CLP, SW-846, 600 and 500 Series); GC screening of samples prior to GC/MS analysis. Performed mass spectral data reduction and report preparation using Finnigan Formaster software. He is responsible for managing CLP analysis and data quality and mass spectral data interpretation.

Analytical Chemistry. Supervised organics section and performed GC/MS analysis of volatile and semivolatile organic compounds in a variety of complex matrices (air, water, soil, sludge, etc.). Responsibilities included GC analysis of pesticides and PCBs and sample extraction/clean-ups prior to instrumental analysis. He is responsible for GC and HPLC analysis of pesticide residues and extraction of samples. He has more than 10 years experience in CLP contracts/protocols
